This album cover was a redesign of Portals by Melanie Martinez. I took the colors from the original and used them on the redesign to tie them together. The album has a whimsical theme, but the lyrics have a dark undertone to them. I added spikes in the spirals in the back to convey that the album can have intense moments. The typeface was the main component in coverying whimsical and fantasy theme of the album. This album redesign makes the type the main element of the cover and uses the typeface to help amplify the dark fantasy themes that are shown throughout the album.
